We are thrilled to announce that Veronika “Nika” Trufanova has joined the organization full time, taking the lead as Director of Development. Nika will oversee donor relations, grant management, corporate fundraising, and membership engagement, supporting the Friends’ mission to care and advocate for Boston’s iconic parks.

Nika previously served as the Friends’ Interim Director of Development, bringing nearly two decades of experience in fundraising and external relations from positions at the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, and the Harvard Art Museums. A Brookline resident since 2017, and a downtown parks user since 1994, she and her family have long been advocates for Boston’s greenspaces and have built meaningful personal connections to the parks Nika now helps support professionally.

“After serving as Interim Director of Development for the past 10 months, Nika brings a deep understanding of our organization, our team, and our mission,” said Liza Meyer, President of Friends of the Public Garden, “and stood out among a strong and competitive pool of candidates. We’re so pleased to be adding her to the team full time!”

Please join us in welcoming Nika to her new role!
