Great Mother’s Day weather and a surprise rainbow made for a perfect Duckling Day on Boston Common. The event, inspired by the children’s classic Make Way for Ducklings, welcomed over 1,000 children and families to dress in their most adorable duck attire while enjoying activities and performances.
Boston City Council President Ruthzee Louijuene and District City Councilor Sharon Durkan helped President Liz Vizza lead the parade retracing Mrs. Mallard’s steps, marching from Parkman Bandstand to the Ducklings sculpture in the Public Garden.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to lead sponsor Feast + Fettle and sponsors Boston Duck Tours, Minni, Hill House, and Pfizer, whose support made this event possible. We also thank our partners Design Museum, the Woo Ching White Crane School, and the City Ballet of Boston for their collaboration. And of course, a heartfelt “QUACK!” to our always fabulous host Rhondella Richardson and media partner WCVB Channel 5 for their continued support and coverage of this event.
