The Collins Lighting project is 85% complete!
The construction fencing has been removed and the full site has been re-opened to public use, although there may be occasional areas blocked off as the contractors complete the few remaining items. The lighting fixtures themselves are not expected to be shipped until February 2021. Fortunately, when the fixtures arrive they will only need to be installed, as the infrastructure is already in place.
Lighting design work is underway for other Mall statues, as well. This week, staff and volunteers met with lighting and landscape designers to review options that best highlight the Domingo F. Sarmiento statue on the Gloucester-Hereford block.
